Legendary producer/director Harvey Fauntein has a soft spot history, he's directed epic films about some of the most ancient & historical figures such as Alexander the Great, Achilles, Leonidas and Phillip of Macedonia. Fauntein has been praised for the historical accuracy of his work, unlike many other blockbusters about other historical figures.
"I'm a sucker for ancient history, I've been studying it since I was fourteen. The figures in my films inspire me and I feel compelled to tell the world their true stories and not put a lot of Hollywood in them." Fauntein told SELL-leb magazine last week.
All the films about the historical figures were all about great Greek men. Yesterday, it was announced that Faunstein would be teaming up with Richard Daniels to make a film called "The Iron Kings of Persia" which is a three-in-one biography of Cyrus the Great, Darius the Great and his son, Xerxes I.. Actors have already out up their hand to be included in the film.
Victor Dietmar has signed on to play King Cyrus, Alexandro Sortino to play the ageing King Darius and Marius Kuno to play the young King Xerxes.
Liora Zusa has also been welcomed aboard to to play the jealous and merciless wife of Xerxes, Armestris.
